Kim Rand lives the epitome of a Rocky Mountain lifestyle, calling Colorado her

home since 1990. As a Boston native with a love for nature and the outdoors,

she answered the call of the west, trusting and seeking solace in the freedom of

wide open spaces. Today, she walks the walk, maintaining an active lifestyle

hiking with her dog and friends, river running, kayaking and enjoying live music

and Bluegrass festivals. Despite this active lifestyle, like so many of us, everyday

stressors created physical pains that began to present in her lower back. In

response, Kim pursued a personal yoga practice and witnessed a welcomed

transformation in body strength and alignment. More importantly, she discovered

an unexpected quieting of the mind and a strong desire to teach, allowing her to

share the many healing benefits of yoga.

In 2009, Kim’s passion lured her to Maui to study “Maya Yoga”, a fusion of

Ashtanga and Iyengar practices, with inspirational teachers Nicki Doane and

Eddie Modestini. Next, in 2013 she completed a yearlong study of Inner Power

Yoga with RR Shakti. Kim's emphasis is on breath awareness, alignment and

the integrity of the postures, which allow the space needed to move energy and

create positive change in the mind and body. She feels the foundation of the

pose is essential to a safe, healthy, and sustainable yoga practice and it is

through awareness that a student is able to heal their body and quiet their mind.

Kim calls upon the ancient teachings of yoga philosophy to cultivate one's

connection to self and the wisdom within to find and explore the mind body

connection. Thus, giving everyone the ability to heal oneself physically, mentally

and emotionally. She reminds her students that Yoga is a practice to be taken

off the mat and into their daily lives, promoting healthy relationships in every

aspect of life.

Kim has been teaching locally in Coal Creek Canyon and Nederland for over a

decade. You can find her at the CCCIA on Tuesday and Friday mornings from

9-10 am. She teaches donation based classes. Beginners are encouraged to

attend and "every body" is welcome! The practice and benefits of Yoga are

designed for All.

In addition, she offers private and semi private sessions, small group classes,

special events and parties (wedding parties, family reunions, etc.).

Give yourself the gift of yoga throughout the busyness of the Holidays.

Please contact Kim directly if you have any questions.
